Kihei 4th Fridays are a heartfelt expression of Maui’s vibrant community spirit.
For over a decade, this monthly event has been bringing residents and visitors together to celebrate all things local: music, food, art, and connection. Held at Azeka Shopping Center Mauka, this lively town party has become a staple for South Maui, offering a feel-good, family-friendly atmosphere that reflects the aloha spirit. Supporting Local, One Friday at a Time One of the best things about Kihei 4th Friday is its strong focus on supporting Maui’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. Dozens of local artisans, chefs, and makers set up booths each month, showcasing everything from handmade jewelry and island-inspired clothing to fresh poke bowls and shave ice. For many vendors, this event offers essential visibility and a chance to build lasting customer relationships. The event is more than just a market—it's a launchpad for local talent. Traditionally, when the legendary Kathy Collins emcees the night promises to be a sensory delight. Beyond the music, the event celebrates local culture and history. Kihei 4th Fridays regularly feature hula performances, live art demonstrations, and even language lessons—creating space for both education and entertainment.
It Takes a Village: Powered by Volunteers
What makes this event even more special is that it’s entirely volunteer-driven. Residents from all walks of life come together to coordinate vendors, organize activities, manage set-up and breakdown, and ensure everything runs smoothly. Local schools, nonprofits, and businesses pitch in too, making it a true community collaboration. This grassroots effort is part of what gives Kihei 4th Fridays their down-to-earth, authentic vibe. A Night to Remember in Kihei Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting Maui for the first time, Kihei 4th Friday is a perfect way to dive into the island’s community spirit.
