Maui is a beautiful place to live and it offers a large variety of public schools. Your children should have plenty of choices when it comes to elementary, middle and high school. Below, you will find a long list of these schools so that you can make an informative and educated decision when you decide to send your child to school on Maui.

There are well over 20 public elementary schools that you can choose from. Elementary school is a time where a child can have fun and learn the fundamentals to education. Elementary schools often focus around important concepts like math, science and English. These are the most important subjects for a child's education and they are essential to their progression in the public school system. This is why elementary schools focus on these subjects. Elementary schools also have a unique teaching style. Most of the time, the children will be in a room with about 25 to 30 other children and they will only have one teacher throughout the day. In most middle schools and high schools, there are several teachers, usually as many as six. Elementary schools do not do this, they only expose the child to one teacher so that things can stay consistent and it does not overwhelm the child while they are learning.
Hana high and elementary, the one middle school featured on this list, serves grades from kindergarten to 12th grade, so they're actually an elementary, middle school and high school combined into one. They're part of the Hawaii public schools district and from test results, they have received a Great School's rating of 4/10. However, the community has given the school an average rating of 4/5 stars.

Middle schools on Maui have always been available in limited number and at the moment, there is only a few middle schools and these are all private schools. Generally, about 3 to 5 elementary schools come together to form each middle school. However, in this occasion, these are all private schools so they will have to be paid for by the parents and there will not be middle schools that join together to form this school. Traditionally though, there would be many more students in each grade of a middle school than there are in each grade of an elementary school. Middle school is also a very important time for a child, it's a time where your child is learning and progressing through life. Middle schools traditionally have about 5 to 6 teachers and your child will rotate throughout those teachers during the day. You will want to send your child to one of the nicer middle schools on Maui, that way they will get the learning experience that they deserve and they will be surrounded by positive influences that will make good friends for your children.

When it comes to choosing a high school, the availability is not as substantial as it is with elementary schools and middle schools. Typically, just one to two middle schools will congregate together to form a high school. This means there are going to be a lot of children at the school. When you are deciding what school to send your child to, be sure to look up information about the schools and find out what you can about their grading rubric. It's also important to know whether or not they provide online support so that as parents, you can look at their grades. Maui has a diverse availability of high schools, so there are plenty of options when you're trying to decide on a place to send your child. You can even use the Great Schools ratings to send your child to a high school on Maui that has proven to perform well.
